I am in the process of installing the ORD body lift kit. However it seems that the kit did not come with enough long bolts. Went to finish position #5 (tail gate) and the only bolts that come close to fitting our the ones in position #3. Just wondering if Im screwed up or its possibly a packaging problem.

All of the bolts with mine fit perfect
X2! You may have some body mounts in the wrong spot. The two that go back by the tailgate are shorter. I just put my body back on my rig the other night and had the mounts mixed up.
I double checked the mounts. I installed a new body mounts with the 1 inch pucks.It seems that myself and 74k5 have had problems, but the two others both 86 year models have been fine. Looking at ORD web sight 73-78 are a different kit than 81-91. I wonder if the bolt kits are different between these two?
The body mounts themselves are different between the newer and older K5's, but for some reason I thought the bolt lengths were not here is a good link to a diagram of the body mounts

The easy way to fix it is figure out the right length and buy a grade 5 bolt at the hardware store. If we screwed up packing the kit let us know and we'll make it right but don't let a common bolt hold you up if it has to go together.

I had to pick up a couple of bolts for my 74 also.
what are your stock bolt lengths on the '74s? We'll check them against what they should be. We have sources like the LMC catalog and we have some factory breakdowns on length that we can check too.

I did this a while back, but if i remember correctly the rearmost bolts where about an inch to short. I'll see if i can measure them tomorrow.

In my best guesstmation, the rearmost bolts ended up being 7". Thats measuring all assembled.

Yep. I had to buy longer bolts for the last two bolts closest to the tailgate on my '79.

On my 87 the 1" ORD kit fit perfect.
I took out 3" and that one had 3 sizes instead of 4 sizes like the ORD kit, but seemed to fit fine as well.
