This is still hypothetical, but I'm wondering if there's anyone in AZ who would be interested in my 4" ORD springs? They have less than 100 miles on them, I'd discount them 15-20% say? This is a set of four.

The deal is that I asked for 4", but they are sitting high, like a bit over 5". I think the main contributor is that ORD missed the part about me having 1-ton axles and everything sits up higher that way. They'll probably settle some, and would sit lower with heavier bumpers.

I only want 35's and every time I see the truck sitting up so high it makes me sad after I spent so much time and money. It's probably worth it to suck it up and get the 3-4" lift I really want.

Anyway, let me know if you might be interested.

They will settle a little. 100 miles is nothing. I think I have 15-20k on mine. They ride better on the street than anything I have been in.

I just don't see dropping another 1.5" though. I'm between 5-5.5" lift. I bounced them and flexed them and put some big trash cans full of water in there for a few days.

Living with them is definitely an option. Best case, maybe they settle 0.5", then I put a heavy bumper and winch on and drop another 0.75". Pretty close to 4" then.

I'm testing the water here though, to see if I have options.

what would you put your price on it? I am going to Yuma for training march time frame.. and I could load them on the aircraft for the ride back.

I've got $1330 in them (plus nearly $200 in shipping). I guess I'd be looking for $1100, but I'm afraid the time frame might be tight. I'd really want to have the new ones in hand first, so everything would have to get moving immediately to make it. I forget the lead time last time, but it wasn't super quick.

This seems like a lot of trouble to go through because your trucks an inch or so higher than you expected...

Agreed. It's amazing how different an inch makes though. 4" vs. 6" lifts look hugely different. A few hundred bucks and a weekend wrenching is not huge compared to the time and money I've sunk into various things. Plus, I haven't decided, and I'd probably bring it down to more like 3" if I did it over.

You won't be able to run 35s without cutting on 3 inches. I have my front fangs cut and the rear of my fenders beat back with some cut out. My axle is also 1 1/2 inches forward. I have ord 4inch springs and an inch of body lift. My 35s still rub.

Thanks for the data point. People are all over the map. Elsewhere, people act like 37's will fit on 4" no sweat with just a little trimming. I know 3" would require some trimming, and if I got 3" springs, I'd probably have them shifted forward some amount. I'm also considering getting some extra fenders to see what I can do with trimming if I take my time to learn...

37" tires can fit great with very little trimming on a 2" lift and axles in stock location. But they rub on the inner fenders when flexed.

These fenders were trimmed back and had a round bar welded in the gap to clean it up.

I think the height of your blazer looks perfect. It will settle over time.

Move your hangers up if its that bothersome.

You must have put on crossover with the ord springs. I'd think that'd hit bad with 3 inch springs. I already need a high clearance crossmember with my 4+ inch springs.

I have the ORD kit with the bent drag link.

Thanks. I keep going around and around. It looks a bit high, but maybe I do need it because of all the flex it has. I need to bite the bullet and buy the bumpers and put on the winch to see where it falls with the extra weight. Explaining to the wife about $1500 worth of bumpers for the toy is not going to be fun. :doah:

What is your use for this thing? Like truly?

Its much to pretty to be a hardcore wheeler IMO.

No illusions. I want to do mild/medium trail rides and drive safely around town and on the highway. I got the springs because I wanted to drive the rocky roads around here without rattling my teeth out.

Having said that, it's fun to drive a mild trail and crawl it confidently because you're set up well, even though a stock rig could scrape over stuff and get through with momentum.

Yeah, I keep hearing that. And true, I'm not planning to pivot on a tree against the body. I didn't paint it because I wanted a show truck though, I was in Iowa and the rust was starting. I either did something or it would dissolve in a few years, so I got a paint job. I'm not sure how to half-way something like that and have it be effective. Plus, I could never see dumping thousands of bucks into something falling apart from rust (like springs and axles I mean). Even here in AZ my CUCV is still degrading every year from its midwest rust. I can't stop it, so that truck will never be a build platform.

Well . . .

Is explaining any of it fun? Mine hated the K5 immediately. Said it's hard to drive, too used to modern cars I guess.
