ORD bump stops

You should cycle the suspension to see where those hit. They are kind of notorious for getting torn up.

Interesting thread. I'll either have to chance it or plan for other alternatives for bb23. The price of bump stops was a bit too pricey and I probably naively thought that these would be better than nothing, which they probably are just not ideal.

more $$ for better ones these will have to do.

They can work ok but ideally they need to land on a smooth pad of some sort. If properly setup there is no reason why they wouldn’t last through a trip to Moab. I ran them for years.

I did wonder after installing them, "what if they hit the U bolts on the axle"

I'm not sure how I can cycle them to see where they actually hit. I don't have body stands only jack stand and a couple floor jacks.

I had to space mine down with a chunk of square tube so the shocks wouldn't bottom out before the bump stops did.

Bump stop pads really help prevent chunking out the bump stop, like mine for example.
To be honest though I don't really worry about it, as I treat a bump stop as a maintenance item, like suspension bushings, they need swapped out once in awhile.
