ORD Coilover Conversion

The front Coilover kit is just getting the R&D finished. They have a 10 bolt version on the Suburban and are working on a D60 version for the Ultimate adventure truck.

From what I have heard the sub needs some shock tuning but otherwise is all good and should hit the public by mid July or early August.

I have seen it in person. NICE !!!!!! Lots of thought there.

Maybe you should buy one for me and let me see how I like it, that would be NICE!!!!! :haha:

By ultimate adenture truck, do you mean project Premudder, or is there a new one I don't know about? If it's from Premudder that is great since that was a K5 build!:D

Ultimate Adventure truck as in the truck ORD will drive on the trip.

Jerrod might end up with the front kit on the PreMudder K5 in the longrun. He was drooling at Easter so we'll see.

The Petersons UA rig is a JK I think.

They junked the petersons truck :(

Oh, cool, my bad! Are there any pics of the new ORD rig, or will we have to wait until UA issue comes out for that? And which Petersen's truck do you think is a joke? Premudder? (I liked that rig) UAK10? (it is one of the inspirations for my build) Or do they have something else out now? I know they scrapped UAK10, that made me sad, finally a UA rig that was kind of a realistic build (like something I might could imitate) and it gets scrapped. I have a subscription but, I am in TX right now so, if I have the new issue yet, it is 1000 miles away!:D

I'm making a Uak10 replica :D

the UAK10 has been abandoned pretty much. They have a piture of it in the petersen's also. Really tore up. The Blue blazer in last years UA is the pre mudder one which recieved the front end of the UAK10.

They need to donate the front bumper to me :D

I'll probably end up making a replica of it

Oops, my bad, like I said, I don't have the new issue. :doah:Ick, a new body style wrangler, ick. If Jeep made the new wrangler with none of the electronic garbage in it and a CRD with a 5 spd, it might be cool but that 3.7 is a dog, thing is ugly anyway, and all that electrical junk is just more stuff to go wrong. I do like the looks of the wrangler pickup concept though but, like I said, too much electrical crap and I would want a CRD. That, and I would only want to pay half of what they would want to sell it for!:D I think they want to much for those wranglers.

Yeah, I really liked UAK10, it's my inspiration! Premudder was really cool too but, a bit too modified to be a realistic goal for me. I really liked how UAK10 turned out, too bad they destroyed it (makes me sad) but, at least they had fun with it!

Any pics of the ORD coilover conversion, or it still top secret?

PreMudder is still leaf pring front end but coil over rear end.
The rearend is a combination of ORD and the guys that did the work on the truck. ORD got some parts to them but they ended up not being able to use them because of some frame differences.

ORD has had a rear kit out for a while but it is not something that your average everyday joe is going to get so it isn't advertised real heavy at this point.
Perhaps with the addition of the front kit to complete the package they will market both more heavily.

The biggest problem is by the time you are done linking front and rear with good solid components in a proven design you have close to $10,000 into the vehicle. There aren't too many guys out there that have that kind of disposable income to drop on an old chevy truck.

BTW from what I have rode around in the $$$ is well worth it.

Seems to me that it might be worth it to some to go with a full coilover conversion that is a complete, fully tested, all inclusive kit. I guess that is why ORD is making it (does the kit include all the necessary links, brackets, etc?). That (I would think) would be vastly preferable to being the guinea pig for some untested design! Heck, if I had the money and the ability to put it in, I would love to get the full ORD setup! I haven't even seen it yet but, looking at the other stuff they make, I have no reason to believe it to be anything less than great!

Kits should be all inclusive.
There might be some brakelines etc. that would still need to be bought but all links, bracketry and shocks should be included.

Basically if you order you get a Hot sh!t suspension shipped to your door that is ready to be lined up and bolted and welded on.

4 or 6 inches I think.

Stephen is the one to talk to I just happen to know some of the info.
