ORD Coilover Conversion

yea i saw this...but i was also wondering who's going to be the first to build a SAS coilver set up for the 01+ DIESEL GMs?? that'd be sweet after seeing Cage Offroad's set up. but i think i'll stick with my 52s/64s in the mean time. once i hit the lottery, i'll get every ck5 member with over 2K posts a four link front & rear :)

RGV72BLAZER,
In that case, I had better get my post count up! :D
Miniwally,
Thanks for all the info! Sounds like one sweet kit, I wish I had that kind of dough, I'd get it!

Here's the magazine blurb.....

Like everything Stephen does, it looks well thought-out and beautifully rendered.

Now... where's my checkbook? :deal:

It handles very well from what I have heard. I have not driven it yet but will at some point in the near future.

I really like the design incorporating the factory shock mount hole for the coilover hoop plate. Speaking of plate, man there's some serious beef with those frame mounting plates:eek1:

How much? How much does it move the front axle foreward? That is some serious beef added to the front frame section.
I need to know how much so I can start saving now!
I love that set up looks sweet and if it is half as good as the rest of the stuff they make I would be happy!

I saw this setup on Stephens Burb at BB last year. It flexed really well....I think I have a pic of it going over the "Crack"

This is a bit off topic, but then again its not. How well would this setup work on a towrig, say towing a k5?

If it is engineered well, which I know it is, I wouldnt have any problems putting it under a tow rig. I would as mentioned before add a sway bar to the setup. Can't be too far off from the new dodge and ford front suspensions. Most of the people I see lift those buy the bolt on coilover conversions.

What ever happened to that "in depth tech article" 4 Wheel & Off Road was gonna do in an upcoming issue. Did I miss that issue, because I don't remember ever seeing it?

I know this thread is way old but I was looking for a review of ORD's Coilover Conversion. I've got a 91' burb I'd like to modernize a bit for some increased drivability and increased off road capability.

Anybody ever read anything or have first hand experience?
