I need some help here, I tried several times to get a hold of the guys at ORD. Phone rang so I figured they are out doing something fun!
Here is the question, just received their Gen II Doubler 203/205. Got it all together and got to the seal that goes to the input/output from the adapter to the 205. Questions are
1. for those that have done this, did the seal even fit or begin to go in?
(most seals will at least, start to set or go in)
Now I'm no expert here, so I grab the digital calipers.
Outside (OD) of the seal is 3.06, the radius of the adapter hole is 2.96. This is 10 thousandths off correct?
I tried a good whack with the hammer. and large socket and this seal went nowheres.

We're not leaving for Moab until Wednesday, did you call after 5? A lot of the time there are people there later than that but not always.

I'll have to check the dimensions tomorrow, but we'll be there if you want to give us a call.

Hi Chris,

I tried at 08:30-11:30-14:00-16:00 and again at 18:10 MST. I tried again being a little more forceful, with the socket and hammer no go. There is a little chamfer on the outside edge, the seal is riding outside of it if that makes since.
I'm afraid to really beat the heck out of this seal, and jack it up. the seal has stamped in it, TTO- F890
I will try the shop again in the AM

Thank You,

If your measurements are correct then no. That seal won't work.

10 thousandths is .010".

Your measurements are 2.960" and 3.060". That's "100" thousandths, not "10".

Your typical hard backed oil seal could have up to .010" press on it no problem. But not .100" like you have.

Thank You,

Crazy, and never got an answer? We are usually super good about the phones, we pride ourselves on that. We'll check on that tomorrow, we are transitioning phone systems so maybe we have issues. Sure didn't seem like it :haha:

I'm making a note to myself now, we'll get with you tomorrow.

That is odd because the final no-one answered the phone is Denises' personal cell phone. In my 15+ years of calling them I've only gotten the cell a handful of times?

Weird.
