Does anyone know the valving of the F3 ORD Bilstein 5125? My understanding is the softer longer travel leaf springs like the stiffer valving?
Where would the F3 fit in to these?
I have called ORD one to many times with stupid questions so I thought I would ask here in case someone knew the answer off hand
Thanks.

33-230344 10.00 travel 25.9 ext 15.9 collap 360/80 valving
33-185552 10.17 travel 25.9 ext 15.9 collap 255/70 valving
33-104645 10.17 travel 25.9 ext 15.9 collap 170/60 valving

ORD F3 10.25 travel ? ext ? collap ? valving

There's a chart on ORD's website. F3: 10.25 travel, 26.25 ext, 16 collap, but no valving specs.
Seems like they round off the lengths

I don’t see why ORD should divulge it. Good on them. I think the 255 valving was standard for the 5125. Only way I could get the 360/80 valving was to order 7100s in 14 or 16” travel. Was a bonus though because they come with heim-ish joints on the ends. Needed that for twist.

The slower valved 7100s are up front with 52” leafs. Rear still has 5125, 56” leafs, and feels great.

Your guy Joe at Boston Trans hooked me up thank you by the way. I went in to have him check out the TC he said it was fine but the transmission is slipping and shift points are way off. Joe did a rebuid and The Jimmy feels like it has 150hp now instead of 90 (weak TBI) but runs smooth and is smog legal. With my 4.56 gears its good enough for what i do.

I have purchased thousands of dollars worth of lifts shocks HD parts form ORD and have no complaints. I was curious if the F3 did something better than the stock 5125 Bil.
Kinda wanted to hear someones first hand opinion that had swithched from a "regular" 5125 to the F3
I went with 33-230344 10.00 travel 25.9 ext 15.9 collap 360/80 valving in the Aux position more verticle on my 89'
Handled better on the highways getting to and from hunting spots hours away. The 255/70 valving was too soft and felt boaty or warbly if that makes sense.
Dont really need shocks but was curious about the F3

The F3 is relatively soft on compression, stiff on rebound and with relatively less bleed which is slow shaft speed flow. This all translates to a shock that's a little more biased for on road use vs. offroad. They're not terrible on dirt but not optimal. They'll feel more controlled on asphalt than the 255/70 because slow speed movement like body roll and pitch is tied down with the stiffer bleed. They won't float as well over quick repeated bumps like washboard because of the higher rebound damping. Again, not terrible, just not as good as something set up more for that use case.
