Well i think i am gonna spend the $185 and get the twin sticks from Offroad design, couple questions first.

1. has anyone here bought and installed one?
2. How do you like it?
3. How hard is it to install?
4. Does ORD include some insturctions?
5. Do you have to cut the floor?
6. Does anyone have pics of it installed from inside the cab?

Thanks

I've never bought one, but just looking down in my transmission tunnel the other day, it would be super simple to make. I'll be building my own after I get my floor boards done. Just make a bracket bolt up where the stock one does, then some tube slid over a bolt (I'm thinking of something around 3/4") with a stick and flat piece welded to it. Then a linkage (adjustable or not, wich ever you think is worth the trouble) from each back to the shift arms on the t-case. That's my plan.

Dont forget to redo ur shift rails or ull have some major issues! I have a kit same as the ord one. they come with everything you need. and yes they have step by step instructions. took me bout 45min to install the new shift rails. Yes you do have to cut the floor. if ur trans tunnel unbolts it makes life alot easier. put the shifters on after you install it in ur truck. also if you have a cb mounted on the front of ur console ur gona have to move it. Works really great and it was worth the 185.00! If i get some free time this weekend ill snap a couple pics

He asked about the 203 kit, it has no shift rails, just two levers. :D

Not to knock ORD -- I've bought a fair quantity of their stuff, including their Doubler and triple stick kit for the 203/205 -- but they, umm, focus on product more than documentation, as we say in the software world. IMHO, their instructions leave a fair amount to be desired; IIRC, my Doubler paperwork even said "We're going to write real instructions later but for now..." and had been that way for a couple of years =))

In any event, as you have questions you can always call and talk to Stephen or post up here.

*Assuming* your truck has the removable tranny hump it's easy, as I *think* yours is old enough to have said hump. The only way you're gonna know for sure is to pull the carpet back, though.

With the hump out, doing shifter stuff is easy. See
