I don’t have a direct without then with test, but I can tell you it is more stable now with it and coil overs than it was with leafspringsHow does it perform?
Not sure on where to set it up at ? What to do what not to do ? Things to look for ? Set a full droop full bump etc ?This is the location I chose. I was able to lay the cross tube right against the cross member. I can get some better pics after work today maybe.
Well, I’ve heard it should be level at ride height, but that doesn’t always work in the real world. Especially when you’re running 80% droop. In my specific setup, I had the axle at full bump and held the bar like an inch from hitting the bed floor when getting my measurements for the connecting link length. I had my good friend @Desert_K5 cut me out some brackets for the axle side mounts. Fricken worked out awesome. Not sure on where to set it up at ? What to do what not to do ? Things to look for ? Please post some pics later would love to get a good look at all the mounting points . The whole setup really lol thanks appreciate it.Well, I’ve heard it should be level at ride height, but that doesn’t always work in the real world. Especially when you’re running 80% droop. Here ya go. I sat it right on top of the frame rivets up against the crossmember and welded it in. Modified a couple pieces of the mount tabs that came with it and welded those on the ends. Please post some pics later would love to get a good look at all the mounting points . If you want to run leafs, I would check out @AgDieseler build. He has some long travel in the rearI'm moving mine from the front to the back, thanks, this will help. I've bent my links from the hitting the axle up front, so the only option is to move to the rear. I know Robert's Custom Trucks has done the rear mount a few times, that's where I saw it first.
I'm also trying to get my shocks set up on the rear also...@fastereddie, what length are those coilovers on the rear? Any reason I couldn't copy that style to mount my shocks and still run leaves? Would the shock body go right through the same spot as the spring? Looks like everything is outside the frame, so I'm hoping that may work. I had 16" of travel but the shocks were up in the bed, so now I'm trying to get as much as I can without intrusion into the inside. While those coilover/link mounts hang pretty low, I don't see them hitting too much since it's so close to the wheel. ****Edit****I just found your build thread for that truck, and it looks to me like that setup would work. I'm headed down that road unless you warn me off...or someone else does.
