I need help from the gang and couldn't get a clear answer researching. I'm getting started with my rear suspension and I've decided to run 56" springs in the rear with the ORD shackle flip and ORD Super Shackles. I currently have a 6 inch suspension lift with 4" blocks on a Dana 70HD 1 ton rear.

My question is which 56" spring, zero rate, ORD super shackles combo will get me the same ride height and most flex? I'd like to know if I should find stock 56" springs off a c/k 30 or go with 2"/4"/6" springs, superlift/rough country/tuff country EZ /HD? and what length ORD shackles?

Here is a pic of my current setup:

hmmm
my springs are from a 3/4 Sub, 7 leaves plus overload. The truck sits just about level with my toolbox and spare tire in the back. Here's the downlow:

TC HD 4" plus zero rate front
ORD 4" flip, DIY4X 6" shackle, zero rate, 7 leaf plus overload 56" springs

Are you saying you have 10" of lift? Six inch lifted springs plus 4" block? Sounds like you need a 4" flip with 6" lift 56" springs. You might want to do a zero rate to move the axle back a little, otherwise it's kinda forward after the flip.

I think I get it. I have 6 inches total suspension now. So would that mean I need a 4" shackle flip (which will remove the blocks), a 4.5 inch shackle(just replaces stock shackles), zero rate (1 inch) and 2" lift 56" springs minus a leaf or two to remove an inch? Is that right?

You will need the longer shackle to get the angle correct. Any shorter and the angle is very flat and pointing towards the rear. The longer the shackle, the more upright. Mine are 6", which has been well recommended through my searching. I can recommend it too. I like the DIY4x shackles a little more though, way strong but cheaper $$.

So my rear comes out to be even with my 5" overall lift in the front.

Question: Are you sure shackle flip is the what you want? What do you use the truck for? Do you not want to run a full lift spring with stock shackle location?

Perfect, that helps a lot. Thanks a bunch. So then I'm thinking a 4 inch flip, 6 inch shackles and zero rates will give me 5", then 2" 56" springs minus a few leaves or a future roll cage will weigh it down for approximately 6 inches in the rear.

My plan is to build a trail rig that can also rock crawl, so I want the flex and why I'm thinking the shackle flip is the best move for the rear. I really like the ride height I'm at right now even though its a bit tall for the rocks, so that's why I'm trying to figure out the math of running 56's.

do you have a body lift?

I wanted 6" also. I wanted room for a clocked T-case, so 1" body lift. Left me able to do a simple 4" spring lift and move my axles apart with zero rates. :D

Not sure what you'd do with the front though :doah::haha:

I do. 1" ORD body. The front will be something I will think about at a later day. Many plans in my head, but nothing my wallet can afford right now...
