ORD shackle flip and a 8\" skyjacker spring? PLEASE READ NEED HELP

I am going to install the shackle flip this weekend and i was wondering if i could just take a couple of leaves out of a 8" spring pack to lower it a bit. I am shooting for a k5 that sites pretty level. Its a little low in the rear. I was thinking if i had a 6" spring and the shackle flip this should be pretty close. I have a 4" skyjacker rear spring also and if its going to be to much trouble i will just put it in there and leave it along.

I'd plan on puting the 4" springs in the back. Unless you bought a 2.5" shackle flip. As for removing springs, I'd call Skyjacker and get their take on it.

yup. i agree.
4 inch springs no matter what flip you have. you should sit a bit high then in the rear.

it seems that i should probably use the 4" springs in the rear. I think i will do this and see what happens and go from there.

Thanks

What front lift are you trying to match?

Re: ORD shackle flip and a 8\" skyjacker spring? PLEASE READ NEED HELP

I am trying to match a 8" skyjacker soft ride and the rear is a little low. Maybe 1-1.5".

I just got done installing the shackle flip with a 4" skyjacker soft ride spring and i also installed to front greasable shackles. If i measure the front it is 48" straight above the lock out hub. The rear measurment is 46.5 on one side(driver side) and 47 on the other. Maybe a set of the zero rates?

As for the shocks i will need longer ones. I am using one the has a extended measurement of 32" and it is all the way out know so i think i need a longer one.

Thanks again for the great products and i will be testing them out on sunday.

Where are you measuring? Don't use the wheel openings because the front is cut slightly higher than the rear. Use the body line instead.

Sounds like you're measuring the wheel openings with those numbers, like he said, go to the body line, it should be level or kick up a bit in the rear depending on the load in the back.

I am glad to hear that because thats what i was doing. Any way i will have to check it out. Man the shackle flip fixed the driveline angle and vibration. And the front shackles fixed to loose steering. The upper bushings where shot.

Oh and i got to try it out today and man it works alot better then it did with the 8" springs.
