do it in the truck . its not that bad . i did a 205 twin stick in a truck with a 2wd floor pan on a 2" body lift and had room to set it up .

You will need to trim the transmission hump for clearance of the passenger side lever.
No need to remove the Tcase. Its all accessible from inside the truck, once the hump cover is removed.
