I still have the original spare tire for the 78 K5. It was a Firestone. The type of tire size is no longer made. Anyone else still have the original spare tire from the K5? I think in later years they went to uniroyal.

Yes I still have the original spare that came with mine.

No, they're a liability. Just get a newer tire of the same size as you run and put that in there.

These aren't special spare tires, just whatever GM was buying at that time that hopefully matched the rest of the tires.

I wouldn't put my faith in a 20-30+ year old spare tire when I had to count on it to get me off the trail or down the road. Even if it's done nothing but sit in the back of a Blazer for that whole time.

I.m getting 33s. I don.t want to carry a large tire as a spare. What size should I get? Will a 33 even fit in the stock mount.

Yep, will fit fine.

Be aware that if you have a limited slip or locker you can't put a smaller sized tire on that axle.

There's a reason they tell you to not put those donut spares on the fronts of FWD cars.

I tried to sell mine for $20. Then I tried to give it away. Finally after about a year I put it on the curb and it was gone in 30 minutes.

On the night before garbage pickup at least a few trucks with trailers troll the neighborhood looking for anything metal. Curbside is the ultimate recycling for furniture and stuff as well. Set a 30-year old microwave out there with a sign that says "works" and it's gone in an hour. I've told my kids very clearly to never park their bikes at the curbside, though.

My is like a 205 or 215 uniroyal. I ordered it with the cheapy white wheels and hub caps because i already had a lift and 38's for it.
