original tire size options

Greetings from a newbie!
To start effectively: I've been trying to find any and all tire size options that were available to a 1989 Suburban back in the day when the awesome piece of machinery rolled out of the factory.
Now to the tricky part: I live in Finland and i recently bought the truck from neighbouring country Sweden. I love the truck and the potential, but sadly, it's the potential that's becoming a problem. The original tire size is 235/75-15 iirc and at the moment she runs 32x11.5-15
She's in for registering sometime soon and the officials have very strict limitations for what size tires and suspension lift they can allow. In a nutshell, original size + 2" or +10%
So the question is: Does anyone here know about bigger tires being offered back then, preferably by GM dealer or other well known dealer? Maybe there's documentation to be found?
I know this is alot to ask, but i'm sure you feel my frustration. There's no way she'll be running 28"

Ps. Signed up today but the forum has already helped me so much. There were problems with temp sensor (truck running absurdly rich) and hvac. Not anymore!
So thanks everybody! Haven't read a dull post yet.

3/4 tons came with 235/85R16 tires. Just dig up a 1989 sales brochure. I found a pdf of A 1991 with a quick internet search.

Thanks. I'll check it out, even though the officials stated "internet findings are not valid". So you see what i'm up against :)

For 89 a half ton would have had 235/75R15, 3/4 ton would have had 235/85R16

So, no luck so far. The original tire size equals 28" which would make no more than 31" when adapting the officials strict rules. And that's on a good day.

3/4 ton tires may not be relevant to them, since threre were differences in chassis and brakes.

I'm confident I'll get her past inspection on those 32's just by common sense, but i was thinking way bigger. It seems i'm going to have to do as almost everyone else here: have the truck inspected on road wheels, and right after that put on some decent mudders like 37x14,5x15. It's going to look funny though, getting to and from inspection rolling on 32's and maybe 6 to 8" lift. You see that alot here.

Thanks for help.

Well this is for 73 Suburbans, but I'm not that familiar with the old tire sizes.

I don't see 31's listed anywhere for the Suburban, wonder why the K5 had them?

Would be interesting to see whatever that brochure is, but for the K5.

I must be missing something. 1973 Blazer is not listed. Definitely 31's listed for the K5 though, and not for the Suburban, even same year. I didn't go through all of them, but for the OP, even best case, he'd only be "legal" with 34" tires.

that's weird about the suburban's. I owned a 88 k5 that right in the RPO sheet it said 31xwhatever it was

True that. Half ton Suburban never got those big tires like K5 did. No matter what people say.
No point in comparing to 3/4 or one ton vehicles.

Thanks Martin. I see you know your s***. Now you need to enlighten us though!
None of us seems to understand those ancient tire specs, and Google only threw me something about lawnmowers.
It's all getting hilarious and annoying at the same time.
