I think hes talking about the front.

AFAIK 50" front springs is the max you can go without changing a bunch of other stuff. There are a few companies doing SAS kits. Most of them will lift 2"-4" with stock front 73-87 springs, witch are 47" long. Cajun4x4 (a member here and on fullsizegm) has a ORD kit with alcan 50" springs for a 4" lift. IIRC he got about 9" of lift out of those.

Rear springs for a 73-87 are 52" Rear springs on 88-98 are 63" and theres no way to make those work without extending the front of your frame forward, making your bumper stick out almost a foot from stock.

Personaly I have plans to build my own mounts using some of the vendors here.

i have custom 50" long 4" lift alcans with 7" shackles....

for only 35s oru hangers and maybe 1-2" springs is all your gonna need, and being that low you would have to cut the LCA xmember out completely and replace it with suitable substitution with a sleeker profile

Cajun is there any way to make stock 52" rear springs work in my application

I been reading up on it a lot recently. As far as I know 52's are just too long. It seams you could make them work if your willing to move your front bumper about 4" forward. But that means also making your frame longer in the front as well. Or boxing in more of the frame under the cab. Simple answer is no, not without a LOT more work.

You can read all the problems Drew(cajun4x4) had in his thread.

Don't know why you say that when I am running 52's and didn't move my bumper or extend the frame.Sorry don't have the will to read through 12 pages to find out what Cajun had problems with. Ill try to snap some pics to clearify.

Just keep it and lets go play in Pismo next weekend... it'll never sell. :D

I need somewhere a little more challenging. Well, looking out for drunkin quad riders is thought of. I do love to sit back and watch all the crazy rides go by at the beach though.:eek1:
