<font color=blue>Nice Camaro! My freind had a car identical to that one(color, year, wheels, ect.) and it was a blast. It was a nice car, until a guardrail jumped out in front of him!

He was driving too fast, then learned the meaning of understeer. It spent a month or two either in the body shop or my driveway. After it came off the frame machine we threw some junkyard parts on it. He drove it for a while and sold it before he went away to school. Here's a pic after we put it back together. I see it all the time, I was at his house over the weekend and it drove by.

ahem...blaze...it's not JUST a Z28...it's an IROC Z28...much faster car. Tune Port Injection on a 350. Did some research and that particular package is rare...only about 12,000 made. We've helped that motor out some and we're thinking it's pushing 300 horses. In the next year or so (prolly "so") we'll put a turbo on it. He he...*rubbing hands together*

) 89 Camaro will be roaring... just need exhaust on it... Happy to say it turned 460 hp on the dyno (flywheel), but unfortunetly it isn't mine. But I do get to drive it whenever I want

. Really just want to see what it will run at Rockfalls Dragway.

Don't do the turbo thing (turbos need a -strange- cam, they have too much exhaust back pressure -vs- boost, also with a S.M. block chev and the 1.50 exhaust valves, just isn't enuff flow for a turbo) Check out a super charger (belt-driven forced intake) Blowers need less work to get them to run. They do need ALOT of exhaust work ( port work for peak perf) but do not need a cam swap to run. I think some reading up on this would do some good. Coool idea, just not a bolt in and go kind of thing. With a small block chev, anything is possible!

Hmmm, thanks for the info! We want to get it over that 300hp hump up towards 350. Maybe an LS1 (I think that's what they are) out of a new SS camaro is the ticket.

You don't need to get wacky with it to get 300hp out of a small block, stick with the tried and true stuff. Cams, light port work on the heads, exhaust, would get you knocking on the door of that 300 hp mark. 350 hp isn't too much further than that, but I think you start trading drivability off if you start going past that 1hp per cube wall. A blower might get you there faster, there have been alot blower kits that have came out, and the info is avalible. Just check it out.

Well I'm sure if you go that route there will be more then enough takers on a 350 tpi... You can do pretty much the same with the tpi setup... save the wiring hassles and go for new heads, chip... supercharger or whatever...

Hey muddin4fun, I've got a great book on modifying SBC's, with a lot of emphasis on TPI motors. Let me know if you want me to throw some info your way...

Sorry about the IROC confusion there! I know the IROCs are much better than just the Z28s, just wanted to see if you new. Yeah, that's it......
