I have a 700r4/208. My tranny is bad and I have a line on a 700 that had a 205 behind it. Would this fit with my 208 or would I have to get an adaptor? If I did get an adaptor would I be able to use my driveshafts? If I bought the 205 too and just used that combo could I use my original driveshafts? I've searched and haven't been able to find what I'm looking for. Thanks a lot. BTW, the 700r4/205 combo also came out of a blazer.

you will need either a custom adapter (they were never a factory pair), or a spacer (about 1.5") and use the 205 adapter, or change your existing adapter to fit the bolt pattern of the 205. you can also change your output shaft of the 700r4 to the short one, which is probably what the combo you found already has. no matter what you do you will need a new rear driveshaft because a 205 has a fixed yoke and a 208 obviously doesnt. not sure about the front.

Not all np 205's have a fixed rear yoke.

A np 208 front drive shaft has a flange, the np 205 probabily has a yoke.
