89 with the vaguely triangular-shaped mount. do they bolt from the inside of the door? my POS manual doesn't say dick about it. has two pictures, neither one of which look like mine.

Should be a screw at the bottom of the mirror base on the outside. This allows you to take the cover off. There should be three screws on the inside that will take the mirror from the door. (at least thats how mine are mounted.)

You have to take the inside panel off to access the other bolts.

What Wheels said is correct, just remember it is a bit tricky, once you remove the screw from the bottom of the triangle section, to slide the cover up. Be careful you don't mess your paint up.

To make it a little easier, you can pull to cover (screw's on the bottom) Move it up the shaft, then just loosen the others bolts. This will let you slide the whole mirror assembly off. Then you got easy access to get the stuff the rest of the way off. Takes about 3 minutes a side on mine. Pulled mine off to dechrome em. Didn't take long at all

Kyle, could you please describe how you dechromed your mirrors? I've been wanting to do this to mine as well; actually I was either gonna paint them flat black or buy black aftermarket ones since I want to eventually get rid of all the chrome on my rig (mirrors, bumpers, trim, etc.). But your idea intrigues me.

Thanks

Chris
