Anyone know here i could buy exhaust tips like this:

My dad wants this style of exhaust on his 69 Firebird, but I'd rather do duals, one out each side.

Much like this car has:

Anyone know where I could find this style of tip? I could custom make it, but if I can buy a nice set, why bother? I know a guy who makes some locally. A friend has this style exhaust on his 06 F250.

Some guys use LT1 SS Camaro tips (I think those are the right ones), some use the SLP CME tips for the LS1 SS Camaro (which are more rounded off on the corners, vs the squared corners). There's another one that's popular with the f-body guys, GMMG tips, but I'm not sure what the style is called.

Those are the LS1 CME tips.

Dr. Gas actually sells boom-tube setups:

You could also try Dr. Gas. They've got all kinds of NASCAR exhaust components.

Thanks, Element linked me to that. Looks like a ton of good stuff for me.

thats alright, if anyone knows of a place that makes these out of Stainless, that would be useful :).

I'd prefer to do a full stainless exhaust, but I will go mild steel if I have.

They are not cheap, but I would really like to hear those things on the Bird. Plan is long tubes, to mufflers, x-pipe under the tailshaft, splitting out to the side exits. I could forsee running those muffler tips, but my worry is they will be too loud for a street car. Of course I could always try adding some glaspacks somewhere along the line to quiet things.

There's a link to a car with boom tubes, like the ones in the link I posted above. Not 10% sure on the setup, but if it's typical f-body, he's got long-tubes, an x-pipe, and then the boom tubes. They are INSANELY loud. My car has long tubes and a 3" true dual exhaust, x-pipe'd, and dumped at the exhaust, and it's loud. When I heard a car with boom tubes get on it, it made my car sound like it had stock exhaust. I hate saying it, but it really did sound similar to a NASCAR setup.

I know where you can get stainless oval tubing. You had better be sitting down when you check out the prices though :eek1::

They have round Inconel tubing as well. You should probably keep some Vaseline handy if you price that stuff out :yikes:

ok I just **** a little. To buy enough to make my own stainless versions of the boom tubes, I'd already be more in materials than buying the mild steel versions. Maybe I will just buy them and get them coated black....

This is Dr. Gas Exhaust Systems.
Sorry to revive a VERY old thread, but we just got an order on our website with this thread as a the referring URL, so I thought I'd post our current lineup of boom tube products for anyone else looking.

Here's a link to our Boom Tube page:
