Over camper shell ladder rack on K5?

Anyone ever take one of the "over camper shell" style ladder racks that attach to the bed rails under the shell on a shortbed pickup and use it on a K5?

Something like this:

Seems like there might be an application out there that just might bolt on?

Please tell me if anyone knows where to get one of these over the shell racks and/or if I have to break down and fab it. Was hoping something was available on the market. I have a soft top I want to have a rack for roof top tent and gear.

I think it is custom deal. I saw one made out of square tube about twenty years ago.

I think if you found one that would fit on a shortbed pickup, you could probably use it on the Blazer. A few of the cheaper, universal racks come with slip joints to allow you to adjust to fit different beds.

I've always thought that would be the way to go if you were running a soft top and still wanted to carry stuff on the "roof".
