Overhead CB mount options?

I know they are illegal, but I don't think cops around here have a clue as to what they are. Just wanted to know if I could mount it down low, or if it had to be close as possible to the radio.....also it doesn't get hot, not even warm, so cooling isn't an issue...

It says repeatedly caught. If I'd get caught once, then I'd prolly sell it and let some other dumb ass get fined. All I want to know is if it has to be close to the radio, or can it go on the floor.....

It's also only 25 watts. Hardly makes a difference. The last time I used it, never had someone say that it was too much and overpowering their stuff....

One thing I noticed with my usage, I hardly ever used it. Mainly because it's more for long range, anything too close or trail runs, it's obviously not needed, but if it was on, it was so overpowering, the people I was close to, couldn't understand me.

I essentially gave up using it in favor of a peaked & tuned unit, as previously stated, that and a good tuned antenna will get you as far as you think you need. I dunno, just my opinion, but I'd ditch the extra components, swr headaches dealing with added components to the antenna line and whatnot. There really is no added benefit to it other than talking to guys 20 miles down the road (ONLY).

If you're concerned about being out on a trail and needing the distance, you still won't get much if you're in a ravine area and even then, you shouldn't be wheeling along anyways. :D
