Hey guys, so I grabbed some overhead consoles out of trucks in the junk yard and put together the best one I could for my '92 Suburban. Well I put it up to test fit it and now I can't get it back down. This was a problem I encountered in the junkyard too which resulted in me breaking some of the consoles I tried taking off. I found a console buried in the back of a truck that was broken so thats the one I used as my base.

My question is, how do I get it back down?? All it does when I try to unscrew it is turn. But it doesnt get looser or tighter. I cant figure out what the problem is. Any help is really appreciated.

Try putting some pressure on it with a pry bar or something. Like you are trying to pry it out of the hole. Once the threads grab it will come out, or you might have to keep the pressure on it until it is free.

If it's anything like mine (an 89) once the screws are loose then slide it to the rear of the vehicle to 'release' it from the holder.
