Although I did see very tiny bubbles every so often and I mean like mm size bubbles. So I'm curious to see if there is an extremely small leak or just trapped air. I'll figure it out one way or another in do time.
I agree, could have been air locked and not flowing coolant. When I read it was building pressure in 2 minutes,it made me think cracked head or blown head gasket.
I think big blocks are harder to burp the air out of than small blocks (speaking only from Chevy experience). It can help to fill into the thermostat housing initially, and then leave it open for first warm-up and top off as needed.
