overlooked shock mounting

I remember reading somewhere that your shocks lose effectiveness if mounted upside down, so i was wondering... which way is the right way? Do you keep the reservoir up top or keep it at the bottom? or thirdly, it makes no difference and i am losing my mind?

Some shocks can be mounted either way. You have to check with the manufacturer (or read the directions if they're new).
