oxygen sensor, do I need it?

I found a couple of sites that go over the basic operating principles of the TBI and the 02 sensors. I will probably just go with the 3 wire sensor, it sounds like I will need it. I've thought about swapping the '89 body to the '79 frame also, but don't know if I want to get into that much work right now with making new cab mounts. The wheelbase is identical.
