Doing a 6.0 swap and need to change my rusted out fuel tank while I'm at it. I have the fuel tank, pump, and sending unit from my 03 2500HD donor. Wondering if any knows how tough it would be to mount it up in the stock 73-87 location? I found it done once but really no info about it and I see that the truck its on has a flat deck. I only ask about this swap because I already have all of the pieces on hand and for ease of wiring/tuning in my LS swap.

most all of use use 1987-91 square body tbi tank / sender MINUS tbi pump . then get a pump for a 96 c3500 350 vortec truck and clip it in and go . gets you the pressure and flow needed and bolt in fitment .

I know that would be the easiest route except I don't have one. I already have the 03 tank and everything. I also like that it's plastic instead of rusted metal. I think quite a bit bigger too which would be nice since I'm only using one tank

Incase anyone actually wanted to know whether this would work or not.. The tank from the 03 has nearly the same dimensions except it's about 6" deeper so it really hangs down below the body/frame. Might not be so bad if you had a 3" body lift but doesn't look so good IMO.
