Have a 2003 suburban that has the p0141 bank 1 sensor 2 code; oxygen sensor heater circuit malfunction. I believe this is from the sensor not working correctly in relation to the temp. I am going to replace to o2 sensor tomorrow, just wanted to make sure which one it is. It is the one on the drivers side behind the catalytic converter right?? Any help is grealty appreciated. Thanks.

If it is not affecting your fuel economy, I'd save some dime and live with the light. My 99 Yukon has had the same code for several months now, and I still get ~18mpgs on the highway. O2 sensors cost quite a bit of money, so it is not worthwhile, (to me, at least) to bother with it. Plus, it sometimes goes off, suggesting that the sensor is not always out of range.

Oh, and IIRC, it is the one behind the cat on the drivers side.

some states inspection laws like mine ( ny ) no codes stored / no light on / and 2 monitors not run max 2000-down and 1 monitor not run max 2001-up.

so this means running perfectly and no clearing codes just before inspection to trick it. :D

One nice thing about the state of Washington: No smog = no worries.:D

Yeah it wasn't affecting fuel, but gf drove it to work this morning and she says that it is drinking it now. Sensor was only $50, so not to bad I have seen them for over $100.

Can anyone confirm that this thing is on the drivers side behind cat??

Yes it is driver post cat. It should not affect fuel economy. It is in place to monitor catalyst efficiency. The pre cat o2's are for fuel.

Just make sure it is the heating element that is bad in the sensor before you change it. I have seen the wiring melt and bad conections before that will through the code as well. Just check for voltage at the two terminals on the O2 sensor plug with the key on. If you get voltage back there then more the likely it is a bad sensor.
