PA problem

OK when my CB in PA mode the cb is quiet like it should be but the PA is acting like an external speaker. And when I put it in in CB mode it works just right. I have checked the jack from the PA is in the PA spot. The PA does work like a PA but its acting like a external speaker too and I really dont want to get a ticket for it. Any ideas?

A lot of cb's are like that. That's a "feature".

If you want to use the PA but don't want to hear the noise, just turn the squelch all the way up and if you have an RF gain control, turn it all the way down.
