After searching this site and all over the web I have been unable to find out if the Pacesetter headers 72C1319 will fit my 89 k5. These headers look like my best candidate for california smog legal ceramic shorties. There site says that it fits 88-95 k1500, blazers, jimmys, yukons etc. But those are two different body styles and suspension configurations, even though they use the same tbi L05.

Does anyone have experience with these? I also have the SM465 will they work with manual clutch linkage?

Thanks

I'm running a different brand but the fitment application is the same and they will work with a slight modification to the driver side frame rail and the relocation of the 02 sensor. Basically you have to grind about 1/4"-3/8" off the frame rail where the 02 sensor would be, then you have to plug the 02 sensor hole with an oil drain plug and then install an 02 sensor in the exhaust pipe just below the collector and then they will work.

At first i did not and i did not have any problems but eventually i changed to one "just because".

Would you recommend the 3 wire o2 sensor? Also how much power did your shortys give you?

The 3 wire 02 sensor isn't required with the shorty headers.

I have no idea how much power the headers gave since i did a whole new engine with roller cam, aluminum heads, 454 TBI, chip, higher fuel pressure.
