im about to put my doubler on my 700...it was a 700/208 anything i need to be ware of???im kinda worried aout how long the output on the 700 is...

you need to put a new output shaft in the trans, ord sells it, it requires trans dissasembly.

anyone making thoose are are they one off???i was reading on ord's site that you can use the 208 adapter but you have to redrill the face of the 203???

3 options:
1) swap trans output shaft for a shorter one
2) Use a spacer between trans and th350/203 adaptor
3) Reuse your 208 adaptor and drill and tap the bolt pattern onto the 203

Just run the 2 inch spacer and the th350/203 adaptor. Thats what I am running and do not have any complaints. The shorter output shaft is nice, but I have heard of driveshaft/tranny pan clearence issues I believe.I wish my rear shaft was longer, but with a CV I can still run down the highway with no vibes and I dont think the angle is to steep.

The problem with the short shaft is only if you aren't doing a doubler because then the driveshaft CV wants to hit the tranny pan but the doubler pushes that back out of the way and is no longer an issue.

so this is basically all i need

Yep thats the kit i used to put a np205 behind my 700r4. I had to cut down the output shaft one inch with a porta band, to get the 205 to bolt up. It may or may not be required for the 203. A word of advice find a fastenal or good quality hardware store and get u piece of b7 all thread and some self locking nuts to use as studs, the ones they supply dont handle to much power and it aint much fun when u find this out 20 miles from no where...

Also while ur at this might be a good time to switch to corvette servo( $15) for a better shift its a very easy to swap out (30 min job tops) and possibily a covette govenor (.500 i belive) helps with 3-4 shifts. If u do go the input shaft route go ahead and at the minmum upgrade to a beast sunshell and 5 pinion planetary gearset this will help the tranny survive much longer underload.

Good Luck with the swap and dont hesiate to ask any other q's.

interesting, I know the doubler and 203 are basically the same length so the rear shaft is basically the same, but does the front yoke sit further back vs. a 203?

Yes, the front yoke will sit further back with a 203/205 doubler versus just a 203.

Minor Hijack:

Where do you get the vette servo? Any old auto parts store? Got a PN? What year do I ask for?

I'm running a doubler behind a 700r4 using the spacer and have no problems at all. Thats also behind a built 383 but I did build a custom crossmember for the doubler though. Just make sure when you put the doubler in that you use new seals and o rings and dont use gasket seal instead.
