I can do mechanical, but painting is not my thing. Worked hard on rust spots and feel reasonably good about the body and frame condition. Looking for a shop in Northern Colorado who does good work (not looking for showroom quality) but just good solid work and understands vehicles like our 1975 K5. Any suggestions or recommendations?

I'm in the Southeast so no help with shops but it appears that the new "norm" for average type paint jobs is in the thousands of dollars now, like $6k-$8k+.

Give it a minute you will have the Colorado crew chime in

I only have experience with the Abra Auto Body in Greeley and that was just fixing hail damage a number of years ago.

I've noticed some nice looking projects coming in and out of Eaton Paint and Body. I drive by there every day to and from work. https://www.facebook.com/eatonpbs/ I don't have any direct info about them.

All the people I knew doing old car stuff aren't around anymore.

JD’s collision repair. They’re in Loveland, did an amazing job on our Subaru plus they work on classic stuff. From the looks of their office, they have a pretty great relationship with local vendors and paint suppliers.
Now with that said, they are pretty proud of their work and the time estimates are pretty delayed.
Hope any of this helps,
Roger

I don't think there's any more collision shops that are not crazy expensive and take far too long to do the work.
They now all use the same software provided by insurance companies to do the estimate.
I got three estimates from different places and they were copies with different letter heads.
If I open a place I could make a fortune by pricing 25% under their price
