Paint/Coating suggestions for beach truck

oh, he!! no, we would look for 10 yrs out of em minimum...

and like I said, repair is no harder than any other single stage mostly... but blending any paint has it's quirks, especially single stage... certainly not as easy as a base/clear, but doable in a couple different ways..

Hmm. you may be changing my mind here. I am already sold on zinc etch coat and quality primer (maybe epoxy?). but if I would have to put a seal coat between the primer and liner anyway - why not make it full blown Imron. Then maybe do the lower half and frame with sacrificial liner over the Imron as well...

Only downside to that is cost. I dont doubt that I could put all of those stages on and get it to look passable (not pretty - just protective) without too much trouble. But it would probably cost a ton to panel paint the entire body separately and the frame that way then bolt it all together. I guess I need to do some homework and figure out how much this is all going to cost materials wise...

stay tuned.

zinc and epoxy don't play well together.. either or... epoxy isn't a bad choice for parts like a frame, but stuff that needs sanding like body panels, not so much imo...

and yes, quality paints and primers can get expensive... base colors in imron such as black run about $250 a gallon with the hardener... 2k urethane primer can be had for about 125 a gallon..

but as you'll read in Chief's thread, base/clear can get pricey in a hurry..
