What kind of prep work and paint do you do/use for plastic trim, such as headlight bezels and my grille? I wanna black it all out.

Thanks.

I washed all plastic parts after scuffing them. I used Krylon Fusion plastic paint. Looks real good. Did it in Gloss Black.

Alright nice. Thanks guys. Even if it does flake or whatever it'll only take a couple minutes to redo. Good deal.

running a scuff pad over it is always a good idea, as opposed to "just wash it"... always good to take any shine down..

I wash thoroughly with hot, soapy water, than wet scrub with a scuff pad, dry and paint... SEM colorcoat is really nice stuff, but I hear good things about the Fusion...

never heard of it.... hmmmm, Google.... :haha:

Actually the best, most durable results I've ever seen are with 2-part poly with flex additive and flattening agent added....

We used to have to improvise alot back in the early resto days... :wink1:

Now that i'd like to know myself. I had no problem painting he door panel but the armrests were a different story. Just knew it wouldn't last on there so i didn't even try.

I painted my door panels with the same paint and the same way they are still holding up and I put my arm out the window alll the time.

Well i knew it wouldn't last cause the armrests flex alot more. kinda like vinyl seats or w/e. Ryoken knows more about this stuff. I can't remember sh!t from school 8 years ago
