Ok, I finally have painted my Sub, after it being stripped about 5 years ago. I did the body work then, a few dents and a new door, and had it to bare steel. I then got tired of it and mud it, drove it, left it in a lake for 6 weeks until we could extract it (horror story on its own. ) and blah blah. Well I got tired of lookin at it this week and resanded it, primed it and painted it. This all had to be done outside, as the garage takes entirely to much to mask off and way to much stuff in here isn't mine, so anyways I used gloss enamel red, generic color and laid it down 6 times, anyways after it dried it looked perfect other than a run or two, and roughish to the touch so I proceeded to sand it with 400, 800 and 1000, this got all the bugs and leaves plus any other imperfections out of it, and it looks sexy but now the panels I have sanded are a almost pinkish color, which I'm not a huge fan of..... Is there a process to retrieve the gloss, such as buffing maybe? Thanks and I'm aware of the other body/paint threads but I'm on my phone and not near a computer so yea, this is slightly easier for me.
