i have that same chrome grill on my burb. what did you do for paint prep and what paint did you use? i was thinking of taking mine to the powdercoaters...

I was going to do this same thing this summer. On my 89 burb some of the chrome is peeling or broke but the plastic under it isn't. Has this happened to any of y'all?

As far as prep what to do? I wanted to paint it flat black also. Scuffing I was going to do until I saw the flaking then was like ah hell I am going to have to peel it all? Then I hesitated.

Painted the silver parts black and the bezels, but left the chrome

This one was before the touch up but you get the idea. I like it alot

I'd do that if mine came with that grill, but it had a POS one that I replaced with a billet one.

Yah for some reason when I bought the truck I hated that grill, but after I cleaned it up, IMO its the best one they made for them. I like my grill more than the 89-91 style now. Just grew on me I guess

I liked the blacked out but I hate to see that chrome go to waste. It took some time and patience to tape it all off but IMO it was worth it.
