I repainted my top recently and just want to post a few pic's.

First the top was removed and stripped of it's glass, rear hatch and all gaskets and interior lights.

With it stripped I then washed it with a TSP(TriSodium Phosphate) solution. It was a little grimey after spending some time resideing up in the rafters of my garage.

You can see the difference just the wash made here.

I went to my local boat shop and bought some Gloss White Enamel designed for fiberglass boat decks. After thinning it with the proper thinner I brushed it on.
The coverage was a little thin and I ended up applying two coats to the top.But working in the shade enabled me to take my time and allow the paint to blend nicely with no brush marks.

Here it is back on the Blazer. Now a nice Gloss white.

I thought your top had that bedliner stuff on it? Did it not last?

It does and it is still holding up well. The problem was that it started to yellow with UV exposure.
I wanted the gloss white look back so that's the reason for painting it.

Looks great Bob,so you gonna make out to Hollister with the rest of the group on 14,15,16 of Jan???

Ah...well...I didn't even know about it.
I work every weekend so unless I know way in advance it's tough for me to trade away a whole weekend of work...who would want THAT trade?

So no I won't be there. The way it been raining here in Cali. Hollister Hills may become Hollister mounds.

kinda looks like my old K5!

I had a few first generation K5's--one was a 71 CST K5,black with a saddle interior--it had the tach dash, and cheyenne style door panels,a 350,with an SM465 and a NP205 case....I wish it hadnt rusted away like every other decent vehicle I've owened--your truck looks sweet--the paint job did help it look much better(the roof!)--nice truck!..
