painting fiberglass top

The '72 has a white top, body is the Chevy dark yellow, I think it will look much better with a black top, bumpers, wheels etc. What is the best method for the top? Can I just spray paint it black? Rhino line it? Also, is this going to make it hotter than hell in summer? And can I just prime and paint it or does fiberglass need a lot of prep? I just need some simple projects that won't require huge $$ or renegotiation with the wife. /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Going to do my top this weekend. I plan on just smoothing it down and bought some primer that is good for fiberglass and just going to rattle can it after I prime it and wet sand it.
