This may sound like a stupid question but here goes:
Can I use my airless sprayer, that I have for my house, and use it to prime/paint my rig?
How many PSI does auto paint guns put out? Mine is max. 3000 PSI.
UPDATE:
I just found out that auto paint guns operate between 29 to 40 PSI.
Well, having used industrial airless jobbies to barrier coat boat bottoms, I can say, it would be relatively sketchy shooting a truck....
You could probably shoot epoxy primer reasonably ok, I'd be more nervous squirting paint tho.. And rule anything out but a solid single stage...
Being it doesn't atomize, it really pours it on... orange peel could be an issue, not to mention the potentiality for Niagra Falls...
imo, someones better off dropping $50 on a cheapie gun... air compressors can always be rented...
I spray everywhere from about 10, to upwards of 50, 60 lbs, but usually in the 25 to 35 range... All depends on what gun config your running, tip & cap size, siphon, pressure, HVLP or non, and what spray techniques and viscosity your using to achieve the desired results... Whether it's lightening up a metallic base or dainty blend repairs...
