I have an interior I'm putting back together, and the sunshades are in great shape....but white. Anyone have experience painting these?

Mine are all sooty; the rest of the interior was a combination of gray and white, with a couple of blue things. Where do you get SEM dye stuff?

EDIT: Nevermind: found some cool videos, too. Thanks!

scrub em good with hot, soapy water and a scuff pad... SEM colorcoat is what you want.. at auto body supply shops, and some better car parts places...

Use dye.... I used Krylon Fusion on the shades in the Beast, they were all cracked.
Not that it mattered in that thing... :haha:

Done. Did the whole "many light coats" with the SEM. I was able to finally get outside and not gas the family.

The new speakers go in soon. lol

Haha.. Those look identical to the ones I did. AND you're dying same color as I did too! The SEM product holds up wonderfully. Mine have been done now for probably close to 8 years and still look great. I did a dash pad with the SEM stuff too and it looks great.

Thanks. The passenger side has these weird bubbles that look like spots where it didn't cover, but the previous owner had something glued on top of the mirror (CD wallet, maybe?) and used some type of poly glue that melted the plastic a bit.

I'll have a mirror over it anyway.
