Park brake cables?

Hey guys!
Doin a 14 bolt swap on an 86 K10.The 14 bolt is from a 79.
Wondering if any one new which year of park brake cables to go with.
2 different set ups used between the 2 years.Should 86 cables work on the older diff?

I I remember it right, the different is in the backing plates for the brakes. The cables proper are the same, but the ends are different.

As I remember, the ends for the old style won't mount onto the new... well, without a little work I just tagged mine on with the MIG. The new style might mount up to the old with some work ... or you could get a complete old-style set of cables and then make the hookups work forward of the diff. I know the new style has a different adjustment system, so I donno how easily it can mix and match.
