Starting the install of my Diy4x through dash cage. Currently have the parking brake assembly laying out of the vehicle to allow for drivers A-pillar bar through dash.
What are people doing for a parking brake with the cage? Initially looks like it wont fit stock, but could be modified a bit and reinstalled in factory location. Or do an aftermarket center handle style?

I ditched the factory pedal and moved my parking brake to the center console. I used a Camaro handle from a 94. I think some guys have modified there foot pedal one to work around the cage too. I have a manual trans and wanted to be able to manipulate the brake and clutch at the same time if I need too.

I don’t have a mechanical ebrake but I plan to plumb a ball valve into the rear brake line. Not ideal and wouldn’t pass a state inspection but it’ll work for what I’m doing.

Sweet center console/lever lay out, looks friggin good.

Bet it looks even better now with the OD on the tranny knob. :D

So, to answer my own question: Yes you can modify the factory ebrake. A couple pie cuts, bend it in-board, reweld the cuts. Offset the pedal about 1.25 inches in-board, it now clears the A-pillar down bar.
Good deal, post a pic when you get a chance.

I'm seriously considering using the entire center console froma Camaro or Firechicken of the mid 90's vintage. I like the idea of an E-brake handle as opposed to the clunky pedal assembly that in the way of the roll bar business.

The Camaro handle I used had a spring loaded slack adjuster that didn’t cooperate well with the spring loaded parking brake on the newer aam axle. I removed the spring and pinned the adjuster on the handle. Works well now.
