Does anyone have a part number or where to buy a parking brake cable for a 85 gmc k20 w/ a 14sf? The idiot po chopped it right under the cab after installing a bodylift:( Also im looking to swap in a 14ff after i get it inspected will the old cable swap as well? If nothing else ill use some aircraft cable and sleve it with air brake tubing to fab a new cable... :wink1:

I went to Lowe's and got some heavy duty garage door cable bout 10' and some clamps and made my own for under $10.00 it works great too!

Ya that was backup idea if I couldn't find the proper cable. I found it on lmctruck.com for $20 and the connector I needed for another $3. I figure it worth the money so its one less thing I can be hassled about at the inspection place. They're not to keen to custom modifications...

Thanks
Cory

if he put a body lift on,you may need a little longer cable than stock.worth looking at before you tear into it.

Or, you could move the brackets that the cable went through so it could fit correctly.

I don't know if you guys have them there or not, but, 'Six States" can make any kind of cable as far as Parking brake cable is concerned, they made mine to mate up the Ford backing plates to the GM stock cable, then I took the old original front cable into them,(the one that starts at the pedal) and had them make it about 4 1/2 inches longer at the outer shield so I could use it with a body lift. the thing even has an opening with a little spring loaded door for lubricating it. cost was even less than the original from Napa.
