alright, im getting sick and tired of not having a parking brake, my truck has an SM465 and whenever i wanna park it for a while and leave it running, I CANT!, and it sucks, the parts are there, the cables are froze solid internally, and ive tryed to free them, i cant. so now im looking into getting new cables, which brand\place to buy them would you suggest. and im not going to do a line lock style parking brake, i just want replacement brake cables. thanks in advance. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

if you have a lift stock cables will probably not work too good.mine are trash right now from rubbing on the spring.maybe if you put some kind of drop bracket to lower the ebrake cable it will work correctly with a new cable.inline tube i have heard custum makes them for a decent price.

yea, K20 on this website showed me his drop bracket, i plan on doing blocks anyway, but im getting sick and tired of not being able to park my truck and leave it running, without having it run away from me. i am leaning tword getting the good cable tho. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

I could swear I seen a post on here with a hydraulic ebrake the guy called it.(CROW bar propped between brake pedal and steering wheel.) There is a cheap option. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif /forums/images/graemlins/rotfl.gif

lol you smart ass, no! im not useing a crow bar, yes i saw that post. i saw someone put a drop down cable on, im not doing rear springs yet, im staying with blocks for a while, probly forever, but i will probly make a drop down cable bracket. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif.

yeh like i said all i did was grind off the rivets holding the stock one on, used some spring bushing sleeves, cut like 1/4 of the length off, and ran some long bolts through the frame. It works.
