this is on my m1008/k30. Is there a fuse that could blow that would effect other stuff? otherwise where should i start? i imagine the bulb could have just blew or is there a switch that can go bad on the pedal? How easy is it to get to the bulb? Thanks

Ground the wire to the proportioning valve, or ground the wire to the brake pedal switch with the key in run, and the light should come on. If it doesn't, something is wrong with the bulb or the wiring to it, not the switch.

I KNOW the proportioning valve wire grounded will trip the light, I assume the pedal switch oeprates the same way.

Follow the brake lines from the master to the block where they all join back up. That's the proportioning valve. (actually combination valve, but not many call it that)

ha i thought id be working under the dash, what wire am i looking for, where, im guessing its near the valve if i need to ground it

really dont know what im looking at here, im guessing those coiled wires are the brake lines but all i see where the meet back up is at the frame and i dont see any nearby wires

ok, see the 4 bolts on the top of your steering box, the one thats closest to the powersteering pump, see that little rubber grommet looking thing ontop of the frame rail, with the wiring loom going to it, thats the wire. the rubber on the end is the connector to the wire.

Yep, the wire is clipped to the small bracket bolted to the frame. In the picture it is in line with the sway bar, but angled forward a bit, on the far side of the frame rail.

okay i got the wire, now this is gonna sound really stupid but is there any easy way to ground it without rippin it apart and ripping the insulation off? no right? and can i ground it to the frame or does it nee to be the proportioning valve?

Just use a stripped piece of wire, straightened paperclip, etc to ground the terminal to the frame.

You can touch it to anything that is a ground, but easier to do it right where the connector is of course.
