Just curious, Why does everyone use that pitman arm?

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm not, my kit came with a BDS one. /forums/images/graemlins/thumb.gif

got both of mine off ebay, one is the shorter ford model then the longer drop for the other rig. I paid $35 each shipped.

That is an intersting link there STomper!!! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

hehe...not sure how that happened /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif fixed it /forums/images/graemlins/pimp1.gif

Any aftermarket lift company's arm will work as long as you ask for a '76-'79 Ford F150 4x4 pitman arm. /forums/images/graemlins/waytogo.gif

One more question. /forums/images/graemlins/dunno.gif

The ford arm has 30 splines on it right? And the 2wd sector shaft only has spline on a 1/4 of it. So how does it fit? What mods need to be done to make them fit together? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

No mods on a 2wd gear box nor pitman arm. Just slap that baby on there and torque it down. /forums/images/graemlins/peace.gif

The reason I was so CORNfuesd was because the shaft that was sent to me that was supposed to be 2WD actually turned out to be a 4WD shaft. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

Let me ask and make sure you have the correct one: the 2wd shaft will have splines all around the shaft where the 4wd shaft will have splines approx. half way around and a notch in the shaft to allow a locking bolt thru to hold the pitman arm on. Now which one do you have?

I've got the one with the splines on one side and the groove on the other. Which is exactly like the one on my truck now. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
