Needing part numbers for a thermostatic switch so I can wire up my windstar fans. I keep searching and not coming up with anything. I was looking for a switch that turns on at 200-210, and off at 185.

Only suggestion I have is to go to your nearest Napa (hope you have one) and ask to look at their Echlin catalog that covers these sort of things.

You'll probably have a hard time finding a switch that goes that cold that isn't aftermarket, since most engines thermostats are 190*+.

The switch needs to be (I'd say) at least 5-10* higher than what your thermostat is rated at, or they will either A) never shut off, and/or B) cycle too often.

Well I was going by 185, 190 would would fine also. It's a new GM crate that probably needs to run a little warmer.

I almost guarantee that motor will come with a 195* thermostat, and if so, you might as well run a flex fan if you intend to run a switch colder than rated t-stat temp. The thermostat will close, and your switch mounted in the intake or head will never see coolant temps under 195* except on startup.

Actually it has a 180 thermostat. I talked to my parts guy at the dealership. A thermostatic switch for an 86-92 camaro will work, 3/8 NPT one wire connection. Granted the switch runs a little warmer, but that doesn't bother me. I had a high flow thermostat in it before and I had carbon buildup because it ran too cold. Its a new GMPP 350 HO and they said since the new engines run constantly higher temps and run cleaner. It won't hurt to run it a little warmer than what I am used to seeing my old engines run. If it doesn't work out, worst thing I would just have to swap out the switch.

Should be good to go then, that application you mentioned is no doubt designed for a 195*.
