Part out this Dually for my Blazer, or...

I say keep it and fix it up. There is a member that redid two duallys and they turned out awesome. One was black with a headache rack and the other was a brown metallic flake job with a supercharger. Someone help me out. But this is just one man's opinion.

See if you can get another set of axles before you part that one. Just my thought. Unless you are like me and a regular cab wont handle the people in your life/family. Looks as though you mey have a good tow rig since you towed the dually to your place.

This is what I'd do... take the entire driveline outta the dually, and put it in your K5. Then take the old K5 driveline (axles, engine, tranny, xfercase, etc...) and put it back in the dually. That way, you can have a great K5 and still sell the truck for a piece of what you paid for it! If everyone's so infatuated with dually trucks, why not put the fenders on your K5 and go dually on that??? It'd be something different... :dunno:

Yeah, I already have a tow rig. '03 3/4-ton suburban with 6" RCD suspension lift, 325/65 R18 Nitto Terra Grapplers on 18x9 KMC wheels, power programmer, volant air intake. Kept the stock exhaust b/c I like it nice and quiet when I am driving down the highway. My 1999 3/4 ton burb had the intake and dual 2-1/2" Dynomaxs going out each side. Coupled with the big-block, and a roof-rack, that thing made some noise going down the road at 80 MPH. My new one is quiet, and it is funny how the noise in the old one made you so much more tired after driving on long trips b/c of the noise.

Well, if you're dead set on parting it out, I've got a D60 and D70, both from a dually much like yours, and with 4.10's open difs, that I would trade with you so you don't have to remove yours. You can keep the 454, too. If you were planning to take the tranny and t-case out, go for it as I have a 465/205 to put back into it.

Let me know what you think of that now. :deal: :waytogo:

Oh yeah, forgot to mention: I would trade my axles which are already removed from a truck for your dually posted in these pictures above. You keep your 454, 465 and 205, too. :deal:

You've got a pretty nice setup there man! Nice burb! Rich people... pffft... haha kidding. :haha:

Well, I'm not dead set on parting it out. Especially after seeing that brown dually. Plus, my D70 and 60 have 4.56s and it's locked out back. Thanks for the offer though. :D

Very wise decision. :waytogo: You won't regret it. ;)

Rich? I wish! Then I wouldn't even consider parting out the dually. I'd go buy brand new axles for the Blazer, a crate 502 w/ a supercharger and restore the dually without a question!!!! I know you're joking though. I think we can all identify with wanting more than we can afford regardless of how much money we make!!!! Trucks are like a bad drug habit. You can never have enough, and it always seems too easy to justify spending money on them.

Im in the same boat so im thinking the same thing im buying the exact same truck and dont know to part it or fix it up. i already have 1 ton axles but its just a fetish to see how much stuff i can stuff in the shop lol. im thinking mine will be my tow rig im just scared of gas prices. anyone have this combo and get decent milage?

You're telling me... I'm building my truck, and it's frustrating because I've got nothing to drive till I'm done, and I'm sooo in debt to my parents it's not even funny. We even have a spread sheet of how much I owe them. This project is turning out to be more expensive, more involved, and much harder than expected. Not to mention it takes so much time! My girlfriend broke up with me for that reason I think. I think she thought I chose my truck over her... how wrong she was though :(

I know what you mean. My buddy is about a pubic hair away from losing his girl over the 427 Cobra he is putting together in his garage! At first she joked about how his car is his new girlfriend, but she's not joking anymore!! :eek1:

My neighbors think i should start a tire store. I think I have enough tires for two sets for each of my three trucks!

I've pretty much decided to keep the dually. I've been emailing eric (with the brown and black dualles), and he has been EXTREMELY helpful. So, I thank him for that. It's rare you see a good looking dually running around on big tires, so I think I'll keep the Blazer as is for now (especially since it still fits in my garage) and work on the dually. Thanks for everyone's input.

Yeah I hear ya on that one. If i could have all the money back i have spent on all my trucks over the years i would be rich for sure! But hey, I wouldnt be this happy then, what ever brings you joy right :D . I think you are doing the right thing by not parting it out, plus duallys go through a ton of mud. My budy used to have a '96 ford f-350 dually with the powerstroke with stock suspension and highway tires, we took that thing muddin one time and we really had to work to get it stuck, the rear end wont drop into the ruts with the duals so it just pushes right through even if the front diff is draging, its pretty awesome! Someday i will have a big a?! dually mud truck.

I am glad you decided to keep the daully ever been wheeling with one they go whereever they will fit I am insanely jealous
