Sold PARTING OUT - 1993 K2500 - 6.5TD/NV4500/NP241

I'd love to buy the Trans from this but sadly I don't really have the money for it. Plus shipping to FL would be brutal.

If you do part it out what would you need out of the trans? I'm down in burlington so I could easily make the trip.

Keeping the tranny would be my primary reason for parting it out. Particularly since I know it shifts well, and I can't get that confidence from a junkyard tranny.

So I would need to get fair market replacement value out of the tranny before I would part with it.

Heading down there this weekend, planning on parting it out. Does anybody want anything from it?

@78K30, I remember you were semi-interested in something from this, but I don't remember what it was.

@chevyman7579, find me an NV3500 and we could work out a swap.

@GWeakland620, you need a transfer case. Not particularly from this rig, but you need one sooner rather than later. ;)

Nearly anything diesel is over priced. Unless it's a 5.7 Old diesel or sometimes a 6.2. People just overpay for fancy names. Like NV4500 or JEEEEEEEEP.

when I sold my 83 6.2 turbo diesel I got Cummins money out of it....granted, it was a very nice truck,

I think that the unreasonable hatred the 6.2 had is pretty much dead because 1) they're stone simple, 2) a lot of our military have very positive experiences with them, and 3) they get very good fuel economy....

Leaning this direction as nobody continues to want the ol' farm truck.

before you do that, look at car-part.com for what wrecking yards are looking to get for those. To save you some searching - and I'm probably going the NV4500 route with my suburban so I've been watching close - $500-$1000 is the going price for them with several good examples in the $650 range. With the miles yours has, it'll need at minimum the upgrades so at this point you'd probably get a lot of "core price" offers... also, from a buyer's perspective - buying from a wrecking yard is a bit more trustworthy (and to be clear, I'm not talking about you - simply the observation)
