Hey everyone, I am looking to buy this 1987 K5 Blazer. I don't know if the year is correct, but it is a Silverado package. Does this have the 305 in it? It is also an automatic, so what transmission does it have?

I was wondering where I could get a water pump, timing chain, and locking hubs. One of the hubs isn't working.

What size tires can I fit without rubbing, cutting or massaging. It had 285/75/16, but they are completely dry rotted and unusable.

I know nothing about Chevys, so I have no idea where to even start. Thank you for any help!

The LT285/75R16 is the largest you will normally fit without cutting or a lift. You can find the parts you referenced at any auto parts store, online or brick and mortar.

To figure out the motor size, you will need to pull numbers from the stamped pad behind the alternator. You can get the codes used to build the truck on the SPID label, typically in the glovebox. However, chances it still has the original motor are low.

The most likely transmission would be the 700R4 stock, but you will want to look at the transmission oil pan and confirm the shape matches. Again chances it still has the original are low.

Perfect, I'll look for the parts online. I am going to look at the car hopefully in December so I'll confirm the engine and transmission while I'm there. Thanks for the input!

Welcome @Greg Saldaña
In the glove box there should be sticker with the RPO codes listed(regular production options) this is important info and can tell what the truck was equipped with new. Since the newest model square are over 30 years old, anything could have been changed.
The number on block can help figure out the engine size.
Rock auto, Napa, O'Reilly's, and if you are careful Amazon for regular maintenance parts.
There are specialty stores for our truck some advertise in our vendors section. Other are LMC, Motor city K5, Off Road Designs, Diy4x, many more.
Be sure to check out our k5 buyers guide so you can check out your new ride.
Looks like pretty nice rig.

I appreciate it, when I go see the car I will make sure to take a look in there. Thank you for the specialty stores too. Exactly what I needed!
