parts cd 73-78

I wouldn't say it's Gm authorized, no. It's scans of the GM parts books... and if they're badly done scans, they're gonna be impossible to read.

Sounds like somebody's trying to make a buck -- and for thirty, you can prolly find the actual *book* on Ebay if you're patient.

As far as I know the parts manuals weren't and aren't "sold" by GM or anyone like Helms are they? No different than an AC Delco parts catalog IMO.

Wonder what kind of replication would be allowable, if the contents were not sold?

I think scanning the '85-88 C/K/R/V parts manual I've got would be pretty handy for folks, if I had something that could scan the 800 (guesstimate) double sided pages of the two books. At least for the exploded diagrams...in a few years the part numbers will be virtually worthless, since GM discontinues parts so fast.

Well, the old part numbers are sometimes useful to a (clueful) counterman ... I've gone in with the old ones, which they punch in, tell me they've been superseded, and then order the new # for me. But it's a crapshoot finding someone who knows the system.

These are authorized. Faxon bought the right to reprint / reproduce them and they are taken from the originals. I don't know if they are scanned images or text but they should be good quality.

$30 does seem high though.:(
